…someone who can take our Procurement vision to the next level and together with the rest of the Procurement team mature a successful partnership with the business to put this vision into practice.

Eurail B.V. offers many products and services to its customers while navigating a large network of suppliers, carriers and distributors. Within this network you are focusing on our suppliers and support the Eurail teams with all procurement activities (RfP’s, drafting contracts and managing relations) for all procurement categories.  You set up a clear vision and strategy to support the organization with its growth strategy, while balancing relations with all parties involved.

So, whether it is new software, a new recruitment partner or a marketing campaign, you will help your colleagues getting the best value and service available.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining the Procurement team, which consists of you and a Buyer and Supplier Manager, as well as the wider CFO organisation. Together you are key to ensuring Eurail gets value for its money and builds successful partnerships with their strategic suppliers. You will directly reporting to the CFO.

You will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Creating and implementing a Procurement vision for the upcoming years.
  • Liaising with organizational contacts to drive a category approach to Procurement.
  • Support the organization in the Agile transition with regards to procurement, becoming more output and KPI driven, and increasing the overall maturity of the Procurement processes.
  • Facilitate the procurement processes and guide colleagues in RFP creation, tenders and negotiations.
  • Advise on legal and contractual impact of commitments and ensure clear documentation of agreements with suppliers and distributors.
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers to monitor, maintain and increase supplier performance.
  • Guide and educate the organization on the importance of Supplier and Contract Management.
  • Mentor the Buyer and Supplier Manager, supporting his professional growth.

You’ll be collaborating with virtually the entire organization, but mostly with the members of the Leadership Team and the seniors in our teams who have the majority of the procurement requests.

In terms of your experience and strengths.

Are you the Procurement Professional we are looking for? Do you recognize yourself in the below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field;
  • NEVI 1. NEVI 2, CIPS or similar certification preferred;
  • 5 years’ experience in Procurement – preferably more – including at least 3 years of experience in Procurement strategy development and at least 5 years in a negotiation and supplier / sourcing / category / contract management role;
  • You have a proven track record in managing legal compliance, Dutch law and GDPR regulations;
  • You are a strong communicator, capable to understand the big picture, work in a team and connect the organisational dots;
  • You easily ‘connect’ and build good working relationships with stakeholders in as well as outside of the organisation;
  • Both hands-on approach on operational tasks and strategic vision to improve cost efficiency and increase ROI;
  • Analytical, confident, hard-working, grounded, pragmatic, and proactive personality;
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills in English (mandatory) and Dutch (desirable);
  • Accurate and keen on detail, agile, detailed-oriented, and ethical way of working;
  • You have affinity with process management and control cycles;
  • You adapt quickly to changes and have a companies’ best interest at heart;
  • You don’t shy away from independent projects and tasks and connect with others proactively to achieve the best results. 

Please note you need to have a European passport or a permit to work in the Netherlands and you have to reside in the Netherlands or be willing to move to The Netherlands on short notice in order to be considered for this role. We offer a Hybrid work environment with on average up to about 50% working from home (as far as you would like to do so).
